2005 – A Year With Months

Just a swift note from me to say nice things about the year… well, its hard to conjure the words. After Ed’s shock conscription in January, resulting not only in him missing band practice, but also risking death in a war-zone environment, things settled down in February. Waking Andy from hibernation in March proved tougher than normal, but we excelled in twatting him with a curtain pole until he stared singing an ancient Arabic folk tune he’d just dreamt off – this quickly became ‘Idiot’. April Fools Day was slightly marred by the joke that went a little too far, resulting on myself being on a heart-bypass machine for a week or two – no lasting harm done though, and it all came out in the wash – and May was dull. June and July were part of a hostile takeover by Disney and was re-launched as ‘Junely’, which had a minor effect on the band, but the band had a major effect on a minor who attended a gig in South Carolina in August, who – so moved by the lyrics to Weathergirl – actually quit his job and fulfilled a life-long ambition by becoming a figure of speech. Well done him...

Errm… the month after August wasn’t named after a Roman, and October, November and December saw us roamin around doing the recording. And it was good… but anyway…

Thanks to all those who have in some way made 2005 a blast for the Pisco’s – we’ve worked hard, and learnt a lot, and with any luck we’ll have something really worthwhile to hear in a couple of months, and will soon notch up some killer gigs… Happy Christmas from us three, hope all your new year dreams come true, don’t forget to wash behind your ears, thank-you for being interested!

Pete
